Guinness World Record holder for stretching the Curly Wurly, Tracy Jane Sullivan is returning to the Cheese and Grain, Frome, to defend her title at this year's Chocolate Festival.

Since smashing the world record last year Tracy Jane has found that the accolade has afforded her great advances in her career and she is desperate to hold on to the title.

Chocolate festival organiser Jo Harrington is urging the people of Frome to come forward to challenge her on Sunday, November 18.

Mrs Harrington said: "We were staggered last year when Tracy Jane smashed the world record by more than 128cm.

"She adopted a secret and much talked about technique using her Japanese martial arts training, which was extraordinary to watch.

"This year we have heard several rumours of new and closely guarded techniques circulating Frome, which we are very excited about, and no doubt such whisperings are worrying Tracy Jane".

The festival, now in its third year, includes a range of chocolatiers, artisan cake makers, chocolate fountain, cookies and speciality hot chocolates.

This year welcomes new producers which complement cocoa, among them a fine wine company matching a range of wines with chocolate, a coffee machine manufacturer with roasted beans, honey and cocoa butter skincare producer.

There will also be a Fairtrade Frome chocolate treasure hunt, bee keeping talks, children's cup cake design workshop and a chocolate competition.

The winner of a golden ticket will be destined for a real life Willy Wonka experience with TV chef and celebrity chocolatiers Diana Short of Lick the Spoon.

Lick the Spoon recently won the Best Confectioner category in the Taste of West awards for the third year running. One winner will have a chocolate factory tour, truffle master class and tasting day with Diana.

To add to the carnival atmosphere poet Muriel Lavender, will be hosting the Lip Smacking Limerick Competition – a favourite at last year's event which welcomes talented writers in the Somerset area to submit chocolate related tongue twisting limericks to be read at the festival.

The winner will be awarded a chocolate prize and the accolade of being Frome's most celebrated chocolaty writer.

There will be chocolate magic thrown in by magician Jez Starr, free talks and demonstrations and a raffle in aid of charity Positive Action on Cancer.

The event runs between 10am and 4pm.

Tickets cost £2 on the day, with under 12s free, under 16s must be accompanied by an adult, and there is free parking.
