THERE will be no Cobble Wobble in Frome this year.

The annual bone-rattling bike ride up Catherine Hill has been postponed for the first time since it was founded in 2009. Organisers posted on their Facebook page saying that they hope to be able to stage the race in February instead. The race has been a popular fixture and attracts big names from the cycling world.

Certainly doesn't take much to block off a street for half a day, they have done it enough to capitalise off the consumers with markets and the like. It's good for the small businesses if they hold this event as they will do business in what is normally a very quiet consumer area.

Why?? Ever since it turned into some professional showcase then it lost all its magic. Go back to being local. Surely it doesn't cost that much to block off the street for half a day?
