Frome Town U13 2 Chippenham Town White U13 0

Frome Town U13s saw off Chippenham after a competitive and evenly-matched encounter on Sunday.

Both teams struggled to create clear-cut chances in the first half as the defences remained on top, with the goalkeepers alert when required.

However, Frome made the breakthrough when a perfect through ball was neatly slotted home before half-time.

It was always going to be a battle for Frome playing up the slope after the break and Chippenham created several chances but the hosts kept their shape and held on to their lead.

Frome added a second goal to ensure they maintained their unbeaten league record. Man of the match was Zak Gattiker.

Frome Town U9 0 Castle Combe Whites 2

Frome Town U9s restricted a strong and skilful Castle Combe side, who were coming off the back of a 9-0 victory, to a two-goal win.

The hosts closed down their opponents well and broke with pace as Onni, Josh and Finn worked hard to retain the ball. Combe began to create chances but the defensive trio of Ruben, Magor and Tyler kept them at bay.

Onni linked up with Josh and Finn but a defensive mix-up at the other end allowed the visitors to open the scoring just before half-time.

Frome started brightly after the break as Magor moved into midfield and fed James up front but Combe were still dangerous and, after Lewis had pulled off two great saves, the visitors netted their second.

A good response from Frome created an opportunity for James but he could not take advantage from a tight angle.

Dilton Rovers U8 v Frome Town U8

Frome Town U8s started their season with a trip to Dilton Rovers.

Both teams played attacking football and the goalkeepers made some good saves, while Fin found the net for Frome.

Frome Town U16s' Somerset Cup match was called off at the last minute as Somerton were unable to field a team, with the Robins expecting to receive a bye as a result.

The U12s and U7s also had their matches postponed at the weekend. Both teams had fixtures at Stanley Park in Chippenham but recent rain meant the pitches were not usable.

Several Frome Town junior teams are involved in Mid Wilts Cup matches this weekend, with the U11s away to Trowbridge Wanderers Black on Saturday.

The following day, the U16s host Westbury at Maiden Bradley (2pm), the U12s visit AFC Corsham Lions and the U9s host Trowbridge Town Cougars.
